简介： Introduction:Programmable read--only memory (PROM) is a type memory that retains its information after power down (non-volatile). PROMs can be programmed only once as there is no way to erase the memory. Whereas a simple ROM device must be programmed as part of its manufacture, a PROM device is manufactured blank and only programmed when necessary. Originally developed for the US Air Force for use in ICBMs, a PROM device is in essence just a grid of fuses or antifuses. A fuse will read as logic
